Epoxy Live is a national student design competition and live demonstration event celebrating creativity, material innovation, and craftsmanship in resinous flooring design.
Guided by professional designers, each team develops a flooring concept for a themed space (think theme park store, children’s hospital hallways, or interactive splash-pads) from a variety of resinous flooring systems. Students will expand their knowledge of real-world materials and design situations each with unique and realistic requirements. Designs will be judged by their considerations of aesthetics, functionality, durability, and the incorporation of one of the Nine Pillars of Creative Design: balance, emphasis, movement, repetition, proportion, rhythm, variety, unity, or contrast.
The top nine designs will be selected for exhibition during World of Concrete 2026 — the world’s largest construction and design convention. Each finalist design will be recreated live on the trade show floor, allowing thousands of attendees to see the design, products, processes, and craftsmanship in real time.
The competition culminates in a special awards presentation where industry leaders judge and award the top designs and honor the artisans whose craftsmanship brings these designs to life.
